201 Speedway Ready for Action-Packed 2015 Season!

Sitka, Kentucky (March 11, 2015) Officials with 201 Speedway are gearing up for another action-packed season of dirt racing entertainment at the historic 3/8-mile oval. Owner, Jarrod Breeding and his staff eagerly await the start of their 2015 campaign, which is just weeks away.

The 2015 season will officially get underway on Saturday afternoon, March 28th with an open practice for all divisions. All gates will open at 12:00pm (NOON), with practice set to begin at 2:00pm. General admission on March 28th is $5 while a pit pass will be $10. Kids 10 and under are admitted FREE to 201 Speedway.  

The Old Man’s Garage (OMG) Spring Nationals tour invades 201 Speedway on Thursday night, April 2nd for the 2nd Annual Johnny Salyer Memorial. The Super Late Models will take center stage competing for a $4,000 top prize. Open Wheel Modifieds and Bombers are also on the racing card for Thursday night, April 2nd.

Activities on April 2nd will see all gates opening at 3:00pm followed by a mandatory drivers meeting at 6:30pm. Hot laps are set to begin at 7:00pm. General admission is $20, a pit pass will go for $35, with kids 10 and under admitted FREE.

Other marquee events on the 2015 slate at 201 Speedway include the 3rd Annual Moonshine Runners 50, which pays $3,000 to win for Super Late Models on May 2nd. Four Cylinder Stocks will also battle it out for an $800 winner’s check on May 2nd during the 2nd Annual Rumble in the Mountains.

The 4th Annual Walter “Peg” Combs Memorial will be held on June 13th, also paying $3,000 to the Super Late Model feature winner. The 3rd Annual Bill McCloud Memorial for Bombers will also be held on June 13th, paying $1,000 to win.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) returns to 201 Speedway on Thursday night, July 2nd. The nation’s biggest Dirt Late Model talents will be chasing the $10,000 top prize in the Inaugural Bob Miller Memorial.

An exciting night of racing action is planned for August 1st, with the Super Late Models battling for $5,000 to win in the 3rd Annual Hatfield & McCoy Feuding 50. Also on August 1st the 2nd Annual Thunder in the Mountains will pay $3,000 for Open Wheel Modifieds.

The 2015 Revelution Race Cars Iron Man Speedweek will open a four-day stretch on Thursday night, September 3rd at 201 Speedway. Super Late Models will compete for $3,000 in the 6th Annual Roger Breeding Memorial, while a $1,000 to win program is contested for Open Wheel Modifieds.

201 Speedway will then take a break in the action before returning for one final event on Friday night, October 2nd. The 4th Annual Halloween 50 boosts a $3,000 winner’s check for Super Late Model competitors. Open Wheel Modifieds, Bombers, and Four Cylinders Stocks will also be in competition that evening.
